Heavy rains of fifteen to twenty inches from Hurricane Georges caused widespread flooding throughout the county. Many roads were closed for several hours due to high water or washouts. Schools were closed for three days because of the many secondary roads that were washed out. Several bridges were also closed due to high water undermining the bridges.
