A woman died when her boat, on Lake Washington capsized from taking too much water. Winds in Puget Sound were between 30 and 35 mph that day. Winds also gusted around 50 mph in Mount Vernon where a fir tree fell and split a house in two.
As the offices recorded each death: direct deaths were caused by the weather itself, indirect ones by something it set in motion.
