High Wind in Vermont, November 1, 1997
During the afternoon and evening hours of November 1, damaging winds occurred across parts of southern Vermont, due to a combination of deep low pressure over the Mid-Atlantic States and strong high pressure in southern Canada. Trees and wires were downed by the wind, which resulted in power outages to approximately 1,000 customers in Windham and Bennington Counties.

During the afternoon and evening hours of November 1, damaging winds occurred across parts of southern Vermont, due to a combination of deep low pressure over the Mid-Atlantic States and strong high pressure in southern Canada. Trees and wires were downed by the wind, which resulted in power outages to approximately 1,000 customers in Windham and Bennington Counties. At Brattleboro in Windham County, numerous trees and power lines were downed by the wind. In Bennington County at the White Birches Trailer Park, a tree tore a hole through the roof of a trailer.
