During the afternoon and evening hours of November 1, damaging winds occurred across the Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and parts of the upper Hudson Valley, due to a combination of deep low pressure over the Mid-Atlantic States and strong high pressure in southern Canada. Trees and power lines were downed by the wind, which resulted in scattered power outages.

During the afternoon and evening hours of November 1, damaging winds occurred across the Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and parts of the upper Hudson Valley, due to a combination of deep low pressure over the Mid-Atlantic States and strong high pressure in southern Canada. Trees and power lines were downed by the wind, which resulted in scattered power outages. In Washington County, approximately 1,000 customers lost power and a tree landed on a trailer near Greenwich Junction. In Dutchess County, approximately 1,200 customers lost power. The hardest hit area was Beacon where eight utility poles were toppled.
