Another cold front moved through Utah with the main problem being high winds. Thunderstorms developed along the front as it moved through northwest Utah during the early morning hours.

Another cold front moved through Utah with the main problem being high winds. Thunderstorms developed along the front as it moved through northwest Utah during the early morning hours. A wind gust to 56 mph (49 kts) occurred at the Wendover Port of Entry. High winds then developed in Utah county causing numerous power outages due to downed power lines, several broken windows and tree damage. The BYU campus weather station in Provo measured a wind gust to 61 mph (53 kts). An Orem spotter measured a peak gust to 50 mph (44 kts). On a side note, the Wasatch Mountains above 8000' ASL received from 3-5" of snow from this weather system. The Brighton Ski Resort reported 5" of total snowfall.
