A strong north-south pressure gradient caused local north winds to blow in Washington county on this date. Generally sustained wind speeds of 40-50 mph occurred, especially near the mouths of canyons. In the town of Virgin a peak wind gust of 66 mph was measured. No significant damage was reported.
