Unusually high amounts of moisture in the Big Bend region for this early in the season with dew points in the upper 50s. Thunderstorms developed over the high terrain in Mexico up the Rio Grande from Lajitas. The storms moved east and intensified with nickel size hail falling at the Lajitas Trading Post.
