Snowfall during the afternoon and night of February 23 totaled some of the heaviest amounts of the winter season in North Central Kansas. New snow amounts of 5 to 10 inches were tallied from Smith Center and Alton westward.

Snowfall during the afternoon and night of February 23 totaled some of the heaviest amounts of the winter season in North Central Kansas. New snow amounts of 5 to 10 inches were tallied from Smith Center and Alton westward. Damar reported 12 inches of snow from the slow moving storm. Many schools were closed or started late the morning of February 24. Further east, near Mankato and Osborne, snow totals of 2 to 4 inches were common.
