High Wind in Colorado, October 31, 1997
A rogue gust of wind which travelled from northwest to southeast through the Leadville area blew down over a hundred trees, caving in the roof of a car and crashing through the roofs of three mobile homes. Metal roofs and shingles were blown off of many buildings.

A rogue gust of wind which travelled from northwest to southeast through the Leadville area blew down over a hundred trees, caving in the roof of a car and crashing through the roofs of three mobile homes. Metal roofs and shingles were blown off of many buildings. The fallen conifer trees were generally 60 feet tall and were snapped off 15 to 20 feet above the ground, except for a few which were uprooted.
