A major north Pacific storm deepened to at least a 960 mb center 300 miles south of Amchitka late Tuesday. The storm remained in the north Pacific, turned east and began to slowly weaken. Land reports at Adak recorded wind gusts of 46 mph...however ships south of the central Aleutians reported sustained winds of 50 mph.
