Severe thunderstorms uprooted trees and caused widespread power outages in southeastern Montgomery County. The Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) reported 107,000 homes and businesses lost power, 38,000 within Montgomery County. Other hard hit counties included Philadelpia (16,000 without power) and Bucks (8,000 without power). As of 10 p.m. EDT, 42,000 customers were still without electricity, more than half within Montgomery County.
