Heavy rain of around an inch to an inch and a half combined with already saturated soil from the previous rains this month once again caused flooding along the Millstone and Raritan Rivers. The Raritan River at Manville reached its 12 foot flood stage at 3 a.m. EST on the 8th, crested at 12.8 feet at 645 a.m. EST on the 8th and was back within its banks at 1030 a.m. EST. At Bound Brook, the Raritan River was above its 26 foot flood stage from 7 a.m. until 230 p.m. EST on the 8th. It crested at 26.7 feet at 1030 a.m. EST on the 8th. The Millstone River at Blackwells Mills reached its 9 foot flood stage at 5 a.m. EST on the 8th, crested at 9.5 feet at 1 p.m. EST on the 8th and was back within bankfull at 10 p.m. EST. No serious damage was reported.
