Lightning struck and damaged a power transformer which caused nearly 36,000 Lee County Electrical Cooperative customers to loose power for nearly two hours. Most of the customers affected by the power outage were located in Cape Coral, Pine Island, North Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva Islands.
