A wet microburst from a thunderstorm moving slowly northward over Hobbs resulted in wind damage. Eight large cedar trees (some up to 40 feet tall) in the Memory Gardens Cemetery were downed during the event.

A wet microburst from a thunderstorm moving slowly northward over Hobbs resulted in wind damage. Eight large cedar trees (some up to 40 feet tall) in the Memory Gardens Cemetery were downed during the event. Nearby, the awning that covered the front of a local saloon was ripped off by the winds as well. Some baby pigeons that had roosted under the roof were killed by the debris from the awning.
