A slow moving low pressure system, which moved from Williamsburg Virginia the morning of the 13th to about 100 miles east of Fenwick Island the morning of the 14th and a high pressure system anchored over Quebec Province Canada produced an onshore flow for a couple of days. The tide picture was augmented by the astronomical spring tides around the new moon.

A slow moving low pressure system, which moved from Williamsburg Virginia the morning of the 13th to about 100 miles east of Fenwick Island the morning of the 14th and a high pressure system anchored over Quebec Province Canada produced an onshore flow for a couple of days. The tide picture was augmented by the astronomical spring tides around the new moon. Minor to locally moderate tidal flooding resulted mainly during the morning (The higher of the two.) high tides on the 13th and 14th. The greatest tidal departures averaged about 2.5 feet above normal. The high tides in Lewes reached 7.2 feet above mean low water the morning of the 13th and 6.9 feet above mean low water the morning of the 14th. No significant damage was reported.
