Flash Flood in Colorado, July 14 to 15, 1996
Flash flooding and debris flows damaged about a dozen homes and mobile homes in the north and northwest portions of the town. Water 2-3 feet deep flooded a mobile home park in northwest Durango and resulted in the closure of highway 550 on the north edge of town for 3 hours.

Flash flooding and debris flows damaged about a dozen homes and mobile homes in the north and northwest portions of the town. Water 2-3 feet deep flooded a mobile home park in northwest Durango and resulted in the closure of highway 550 on the north edge of town for 3 hours. As much as 2.18 inches of rain fell within 90 minutes.
