Another rapidly deepening low moved by Attu as at least a 968mb center Friday afternoon with its front in an arc southeastward through Amchitka. The low then curved north toward Cape Navarin with its front in an arc through Saint Matthew Island and Unimak Pass Saturday afternoon.

Another rapidly deepening low moved by Attu as at least a 968mb center Friday afternoon with its front in an arc southeastward through Amchitka. The low then curved north toward Cape Navarin with its front in an arc through Saint Matthew Island and Unimak Pass Saturday afternoon. Strong southerly winds were observed in advance of the front. Strong southwest winds were reported along the south semicircle of the low. Wind gusts of 59 mph were recorded at Shemya at 10pm Friday.
