Strengthening high pressure built from the northcentral interior of the state toward the Dawson-Mayo area of Canada. Cold air "outflow" winds reached 63 mph at Whittier on Wednesday. Wind gusts of 54 mph were reported at the Valdez city site, 58 mph at the Valdez airport site and 54 mph at Seal Island in Prince William Sound on Thursday. Seward reported wind gusts of 58 mph on both Wednesday and Thursday...with speeds again reaching 44 mph on Monday.
