A metal shed was destroyed, three RV's were damaged and a van was turned upside down. Several telephone poles were broken. Area damages were estimated at $60,000.

A SKYWARN spotter reported golf ball-size hail and 60 mph winds south of Midland International Airport. Five mobile homes were destroyed, and hundreds of houses had broken windows and other external damage from the wind-driven hail of up to golf ball-size that swept through the city of Midland. The Midland Airpark reported 75 mph winds in Midland. In Martin County, a supercell thunderstorm produced a brief tornado just east of Lenorah as reported by the public. Strong winds tore a roof off a building, and cotton crops in the area were damaged as well. Golf ball-size hail broke windows. Golf ball-size hail was also reported southeast of Lamesa by the Dawson County Sheriff's Office.

The tornado in southern Hall County was surveyed by University of Oklahoma students for Dr. Bluestein and VORTEX. The tornado in Childress was video taped by a Skywarn spotter from Childress. Both were mostly over open country, but did damage some out buildings and barns, and toppled some windmills. The lightning strike started a house fire in western Amarillo with damages greater than $5K. The greatest damage was in Swisher County, especially the community of Tulia. Golf ball- to baseball-size hail fail to a depth of six inches causing the greatest property loss of any storm so far this year. Personal property loss was estimated at greater than $800K with agriculture approaching $1M for this storm complex.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office reported quarter-size hail south of Sweetwater. A storm spotter reported an antenna blown down at Swenson. Golf ball-size hail was reported eight miles south of Post by the Garza County Sheriff's Office. In Upton County, strong winds damaged the roof of a mobile home and virtually destroyed a hangar at an airport near McCamey. Storage sheds and carports were damaged, and many large tree limbs were downed. The sheriff's office reported golf ball-size hail in Rankin. The public reported tennisball-size hail five miles north of Ballinger in Runnels County. Also, a local radio station reported two stores with roofs blown off, and many trees and limbs broken by strong winds in Ballinger. In Cottle County, the public reported large tree limbs downed about 10 miles northeast of Paducah.

Thunderstorms in the western part of North Texas during the evening hours on the 25th produced one tornado, hail up to two inches in diameter and damaging winds. A tornado touched down two miles north of Quanah at 1815 CST. The F0 tornado occurred in an open field and no damage was reported. Thunderstorm winds estimated at 100 mph in combination with two inch diameter hail destroyed a 20 x 20 foot storage building, damaged a satellite dish and several homes, broke windows, downed fences and telephone poles, stripped bark from trees and destroyed the cotton and watermelon crops 4.5 miles north-northeast of Quanah. Thunderstorm winds damaged roofs and knocked down trees and transformers in Quanah, tore the roofs off of several barns just east of Quanah, knocked down the front of a store and severely damaged the roof, downed numerous trees and tree limbs and damaged railroad crossing gates in Chillicothe, damaged the roof and a door of a doctors clinic in Vernon and downed tree limbs in Benjamin and Odell.

Thunderstorms in the western part of North Texas during the evening hours on the 25th produced one tornado, hail up to two inches in diameter and damaging winds. A tornado touched down two miles north of Quanah at 1815 CST. The F0 tornado occurred in an open field and no damage was reported. Thunderstorm winds estimated at 100 mph in combination with two inch diameter hail destroyed a 20 x 20 foot storage building, damaged a satellite dish and several homes, broke windows, downed fences and telephone poles, stripped bark from trees and destroyed the cotton and watermelon crops 4.5 miles north-northeast of Quanah. Thunderstorm winds damaged roofs and knocked down trees and transformers in Quanah, tore the roofs off of several barns just east of Quanah, knocked down the front of a store and severely damaged the roof, downed numerous trees and tree limbs and damaged railroad crossing gates in Chillicothe, damaged the roof and a door of a doctors clinic in Vernon and downed tree limbs in Benjamin and Odell.
