1924, December 2. 7.3 S, 109.9 E. Intensity IX. Wonosobo: Central Java - the quake seemed to be preceded by foreshocks. Destructive at Wonosobo and damage was also done to stone buildings outside Wonosobo. Approximately 2250 houses collapsed and in some vi1lages most damage was caused by ground-slides. Altogether about 727 people were killed. The quake loss was estimated by the local authorities at about 61,000 guilders. (reference #1188)
