1863, July 31. A local earthquake caused great ruin in the town of Banjoemas. The shocks were felt to the north of the town, but none were observed at Tjilatjap. (Nat. Tijdschr. 27, 1864, p. 110). (reference #1122)

1863, July 31. Java, Banjoemas. Intensity I which corresponds to an earthquake of intensity sufficient to crack walls, break chimneys, to shatter old buildings or to produce cracks in the ground. (reference #1055)
