330 AM CDT Mon Jun 8 2026

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Marginal tornado risk.
  Slight hail risk.
  Slight thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive heat risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM today. The greatest
near-term flooding risk is across extreme southwest Missouri and
extreme southeast Kansas where storms are currently lining up to
train and produce amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with localized pockets
up to 7 or more inches. If the higher amounts occur over populated
areas, potentially significant and life-threatening flash flooding
could occur. Turn around, don't drown!

Additionally, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 AM
this morning. While the main threat is flash flooding, some
isolated instances of wind gusts up to 60 mph, quarter sized hail,
and brief spin-up tornadoes are possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Above normal temperatures and humidity next week will lead to
Heat Index values in the mid-90s to lower 100s. With this being
the first heat of the season, paired with warm nighttime
temperatures, heat-related impacts may be slightly heightened.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this morning and tonight for
areas west of Highway 65.
