    expected.

    of next week as temperatures also begin climbing back into the
    mid 90s.

While heavy rainfall continues across north Georgia at this time,
instability is on the downtrend and the front is progressive. The
flash flood threat has not ended and rainfall rates remain above 1
to 2 inches per hour in some spots. MRMS suggests total rainfall
over the last 3 to 6 hrs in excess of 5 inches. Rainfall should
begin to taper off, however definitely going to keep an eye on
things over the next hour or so.

The slowing cold front will continue to drift across the area
through the day today with showers and thunderstorms intermittent
along its length. PWATs remain high and slow moving/training
thunderstorms have resulted in significant rainfall over highly
localized areas. The greatest rates so far have reach upwards of 3
to 4 inches per hour. Instability will rebound across east central
GA this afternoon, and could prime the area for isolated to
scattered severe thunderstorms. Furthermore, areas of east-central
Georgia also say heavy rainfall yesterday and may be primed for
flash flooding conditions.

Once the cold front clears the area (model uncertainty of timing is
high) conditions will transition to a dirty summertime ridge pattern
with diurnally driven thunderstorms. Localized flash flooding and
gusty winds are, as usual, something to watch out for.

Temperatures through the short term will be mostly cool and post-
frontal, before beginning to climb early into the week.&&
