* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding covers lowest 
  parking sites at the Pioneer RV park in Bandera and is threatening 
  the second level. Residents and people camping or renting 
  properties adjacent to the river should monitor NOAA Weather Radio 
  and social media outlets for developing heavy rain and flood 
  conditions. Lowest homes at the upper end of Medina Lake are 
  threatened if the lake is near spillway level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 2:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.2 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 6.5 feet late this
    afternoon. It will then fall to 5.0 feet just after midnight
    tonight. It will rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to
    13.6 feet late tomorrow evening. It will then fall below
    flood stage late tomorrow evening.

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Frio River at Concan.

* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding reaches camping 
  areas near Rio Frio to above concan during recreation months 
  threatening campers, autos, RV trailers, canoes and gear. Low 
  roads and bridges are flooded and dangerous to auto traffic.

At 14.0 feet, Flow extends well into the flood plain below Rio Frio 
to Concan. Turbulent flow several feet deep in campgrounds is 
dangerous to campers and their autos, RVs, and camping gear. 
Numerous roads and low bridges are severely flooded and dangerous to 
auto traffic.

At 15.0 feet, Major flooding increases very quickly to several feet 
deep over the Frio River banks of recreation camps near Rio Frio to 
near Concan. Sleeping campers, autos and recreational vehicles can 
be washed downstream. This is a life threatening level.

At 17.0 feet, Up to near ten feet of turbulent flow smashes through 
campgrounds below Rio Frio to Concan. recreational vehicles, autos, 
and gear can easily be swept downstream. Lowest homes below Leakey 
to below Rio Frio are threatened. Residents in flood prone areas 
should prepare to evacuate as emergency officials assess the threat.

  - At 8:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.4 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 17.5 feet late this
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is 
  forecast.

* WHERE...Sabinal at Sabinal.

* WHEN...Until Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding damages crops and floods 
  pastureland cutting off and potentially drowning livestock in low 
  areas of the flood plain. Secondary roads and low bridges flood 
  severely as the flood wave passes downstream.

At 24.0 feet, Major lowland flooding from the headwaters to the Frio 
River confluence. Very dangerous to campers upstream near Utopia. 
Many secondary and primary roads and low bridges are flooded and 
dangerous.

At 28.0 feet, Major flooding threatens the "Utopia on the River" 
resort near Utopia. Numerous roads, crossings, and bridges are 
flooded severely. Livestock should be moved from vulnerable areas of 
the flood plain.

At 32.0 feet, Disastrous flooding upstream near Utopia puts flow 
four feet deep in the "Utopia on the River" camp headquarters 
washing autos from the parking lot and threatening lives. Camping 
sites at a girl scout camp three miles south of Utopia are 
dangerously flooded. Secondary and primary roads and low bridges 
near the river flood under several feet of fast moving water as the 
flood wave moves from the headwaters to the Frio River confluence.

  - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 18.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 33.4 feet this evening. It
    will fall below flood stage tomorrow evening.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    33.3 feet on 06/17/1958.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding makes low 
  bridges very dangerous to motorists along Highway 55 at Hackberry 
  Creek. The Nueces River at Barksdale, and numerous crossings and 
  low bridges in the headwaters and Camp Wood Creek. Campers 
  downstream should move themselves, vehicles, and equipment from 
  the banks of the river.

At 21.0 feet, Major flooding reaches recreation camps between Camp 
Wood and Uvalde. Secondary and primary roads and bridges and can be 
life threatening. Livestock should be moved from flood prone areas 
of the flood plain from the headwaters to Crystal City.

  - At 8:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding nine miles 
  southwest of Uvalde closes the Farm to Market 481 bridge floor. 
  Livestock in the flood plain should be moved to higher ground.

At 15.0 feet, Moderate flooding with livestock cut off and equipment 
destroyed in lowest areas of the flood plain. Secondary roads and 
low bridges are dangerous to auto traffic above Barksdale to below 
Carrizo Springs.

At 17.0 feet, Major flooding extends well into the flood plain. 
Livestock in the flood plain should be moved to higher ground 
immediately. Highways 57, 65, 85, 190, and Farm to Market 1025 are 
flooded and closed. Fencing and roads are damaged.

At 21.0 feet, Lowest homes downstream in the east edge of Crystal 
City flood. Numerous secondary roads and low bridges are extremely 
dangerous to motorists above Barksdale to below Carrizo Springs. 
Livestock are cut off and equipment destroyed in the flood plain 
from the headwaters to below Tilden with massive damage to fencing 
and secondary roads.

At 23.0 feet, Disastrous widespread lowland flooding reaches several 
homes in Crystal City. Roads, fencing, and any improvements in the 
flood plain are damaged. Flow is generally 1/2 mile wide in the 
flood plain and livestock should be moved from vulnerable areas.

At 25.0 feet, Residents of many low lying homes in Crystal City 
flood in less than a day from a crest in Uvalde. Roads and bridges 
are damaged above Barksdale to below Carrizo Springs. Flow ranges 
from one half mile to four miles wide in the flood plain, trapping 
livestock and destroying equipment in the flood plain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 4.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 24.3 feet just after
    midnight tonight. It will then slowly fall below flood stage
    by Friday morning.

At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding covers lowest parking sites 
at the Pioneer RV park in Bandera and is threatening the second 
level. Residents and people camping or renting properties adjacent 
to the river should monitor NOAA Weather Radio and social media 
outlets for developing heavy rain and flood conditions.

At 17.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding threatens the second level 
of trailer spaces at the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 in Bandera. 
Lowest trailer sites at the Pioneer RV Park are under several feet 
of water.

At 18.0 feet, The second level of campsites flood at the Pioneer RV 
Park just below Highway 173 in Bandera. The lowest sites are under 
several feet of water. Secondary roads and low bridges flood near 
the Medina River and are dangerous to traffic.

At 20.0 feet, Flooding begins in the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 
in Bandera. All RV's and campers should evacuate immediately before 
flooding cuts off the Pioneer RV Park. Roads and bridges across 
Bandera County are severely flooded and very dangerous.

At 22.0 feet, Severe flooding begins to threaten the Pioneer RV 
park. All RV's should be evacuated immediately.  Many roads and 
bridges in Bandera County will flood and are very dangerous.

At 24.0 feet, Major flooding reaches the Pioneer RV park just below 
Highway 173 in Bandera. Many secondary and primary roads and bridges 
near the Medina River are flooded and very dangerous.

At 25.0 feet, All campsites in the Pioneer RV Park in Bandera flood 
and flow is within three feet of the Highway 173 bridge floor.

  - At 8:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 5.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this

pumps and any equipment in the flood plain. Numerous secondary roads 
and low bridges are flooded. Livestock are cut off and potentially 
drowned in low areas of the flood plain.

  plain with no significant damage. Residents of mobile home parks, 
  the Pioneer RV Park and the upper end of Medina Lake should 
  monitor NOAA Weather Radio for developing flood conditions.

At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding covers lowest parking sites 
at the Pioneer RV park in Bandera and is threatening the second 
level. Residents and people camping or renting properties adjacent 
to the river should monitor NOAA Weather Radio and social media 
outlets for developing heavy rain and flood conditions.

At 17.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding threatens the second level 
of trailer spaces at the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 in Bandera. 
Lowest trailer sites at the Pioneer RV Park are under several feet 
of water.

At 18.0 feet, The second level of campsites flood at the Pioneer RV 
Park just below Highway 173 in Bandera. The lowest sites are under 
several feet of water. Secondary roads and low bridges flood near 
the Medina River and are dangerous to traffic.

At 20.0 feet, Flooding begins in the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 
in Bandera. All RV's and campers should evacuate immediately before 
flooding cuts off the Pioneer RV Park. Roads and bridges across 
Bandera County are severely flooded and very dangerous.

At 22.0 feet, Severe flooding begins to threaten the Pioneer RV 
park. All RV's should be evacuated immediately.  Many roads and 
bridges in Bandera County will flood and are very dangerous.

At 24.0 feet, Major flooding reaches the Pioneer RV park just below 
Highway 173 in Bandera. Many secondary and primary roads and bridges

  above Guadalupe River State Park to Canyon Lake.
  At 23.0 feet, Turbulent flow makes swimming and tubing dangerous 
  above Guadalupe River State Park to Canyon Lake. Lowest areas of 
  Guadalupe River State Park are flooded.
  At 25.0 feet, Flow extends over lowest sections of banks. 
  Turbulent flow is very dangerous to tubers and swimmers above 
  Guadalupe River State Park except with commercial outfitters.
  At 28.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding extends into lowest areas of 
  Guadalupe River State Park. Swimming, tubing, and canoeing above 
  Guadalupe River State Park to Canyon Lake is dangerous except with

  At 30.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding rises into the flood plain at 
  Guadalupe River State Park damaging tables, trash cans and camping 
  equipment. Swimming and any recreation in the river is extremely 
  dangerous with turbulence, trees and trash in the water.
  At 36.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding reaches secondary roads 
  and low bridges in the flood plain. Recreationists should evacuate 
  the river banks because of dangerous turbulent flow. Low sections 
  of Guadalupe River State Park have tables, trash cans, and 
  equiment damaged. Lowest homes in Kendall County to Canyon Lake 
  flood.

At 17.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding threatens the second level 
of trailer spaces at the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 in Bandera. 
Lowest trailer sites at the Pioneer RV Park are under several feet 
of water.

At 18.0 feet, The second level of campsites flood at the Pioneer RV 
Park just below Highway 173 in Bandera. The lowest sites are under 
several feet of water. Secondary roads and low bridges flood near 
the Medina River and are dangerous to traffic.

At 20.0 feet, Flooding begins in the Pioneer RV Park at Highway 173 
in Bandera. All RV's and campers should evacuate immediately before 
flooding cuts off the Pioneer RV Park. Roads and bridges across 
Bandera County are severely flooded and very dangerous.

At 22.0 feet, Severe flooding begins to threaten the Pioneer RV 
park. All RV's should be evacuated immediately.  Many roads and 
bridges in Bandera County will flood and are very dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet 
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, 
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, 
stop, turn around and go another way.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Wednesday)
Issued at 126 AM CDT Tue Jul 14 2026

Numerous Flood Advisories and Warnings are currently ongoing across
the area this evening. Expect this trend to continue overnight as we
remain in an extremely moist airmass. Recent Upper air analysis shows
a strong ridge over most of the western half of the country with a
closed high over the northern plains into the upper midwest. The
500mb flow over Texas however is from the west while the low level
flow continues to be from the southeast across South-Central Texas.
With the upper ridge over the northern plains, a trough is now
located over our area helping to ignite and fuel convection over the
area.

Rain chances will continue overnight and only increase during
the afternoon with PW values already exceeding over two inches over
most of the area. Along with these high values, weak wind shear will
lead to slow moving and erratic storm motion that could eventually
lead to training storms. This will continue to lead to increasing
chances for locally heavy rainfall and possible flooding to continue
into Wednesday. Rainfall totals for the short term period will range
from a widespread 2-6 inches with isolated higher amounts possible
upwards of 10 to 15 inches somewhere in the watch area particularly
over the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau and western
Hill Country. This is likely to be a multi rainfall event with
several rounds of heavy rainfall during the short term period and
continuing into the Thursday time frame. A Flood Watch remains in
effect until 7pm Thursday evening. There is a potential for life
threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area and we urge
residents and visitors of South Central Texas to stay weather aware
and check on weather updates.

That being said, WPC has included most of our CWA in the Level 2 of
4 (Slight) risk for excessive rainfall for our entire area with a
level 3 of 4 (Moderate) risk for the southern Edwards Plateau into
Bexar County(including the San Antonio metro) and parts of the
western Hill Country for Today. Many of the same areas are in a
level 3 of 4 (Moderate) risk for excessive rainfall again for
Wednesday and continuing into Thursday.

Temperatures will be several degrees below normal through the period
due to the extensive cloud cover and rain cooled areas. Today's
and Wednesday's highs will be cooler with most of the CWA not
reaching 90 degrees.

Our wet pattern continues into Thursday with the mid to upper level
disturbance over west Texas staying put, in addition, pulses of
energy will be coming in from the southwest flow aloft. PW will
remain unusually high, however locally heavy rain will continue to
remain possible. WPC keeps the western half of our area (Rio Grande
Plains and southern Edwards Plateau) in a level 2 of 4 (slight) risk
for excessive rainfall with a level 1 of 4(marginal) risk across the
western Hill Country and parts of Bexar county. Depending on how
this activity evolves will determine if we continue to see elevated
flooding potential continuing into the first half of Friday.

By late week the upper pattern should start to readjust, however we
will likely still be somewhat unstable and low rain chances will
continue at least out in our western areas until Friday. The weekend
looks to be drier at this point. With all of the cloudiness and
rain, high temperatures will continue to remain cooler with highs
not reaching 90 over most of the area and staying below normal
through Friday. We should see temperatures moderate as we get to
Saturday with the return of 90s and more seasonable temps expected
into early next week.

Convective trends are filling in over the I-35 sites and have made
adjustments to go with TEMPO TSRA for the next few hours. Cigs
have also been lowered into IFR with TSRA. We will keep the PROB30
groups along I-35 for the possibility of another round of
afternoon storms as daytime heating helps destabilize the
atmosphere. Out west at DRT, we have made some minor adjustments
to delay the onset of TSRA, but radar trends and models still show
good chances for convection here as well.
