(Today through Thursday)
Issued at 1240 AM CDT WED MAY 21 2025

A broken line of showers and storms continues to sag southward
while sliding east through the morning. Trends over the past hour
are showing that the northern line will soon move out of the area
and this second more southern line will take over the main radar
concern. Most of the stronger dynamics remain in the north and
sliding out. While we certainly could still have a few stronger
storms then severe potential appears to be on the downward trend.

This line will generally be out of the area by sunrise, with only
a few showers and storms in the southeast through the early
morning. Behind the line we will clear out and remain dry for the
rest of the short term.

(Thursday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 1240 AM CDT WED MAY 21 2025

Dry conditions will persist through Saturday morning across all
of Central Alabama with some showers and storms returning to the
far north by the afternoon. Better chances return on Sunday as the
next front begins to work into the area. Rain chances will begin
to dwindle again on Tuesday afternoon as the front pushes south of
the area. There is a chance that the front stalls on Wednesday,
keeping rain chances in the picture through the rest of the
period.

Showers and storms will continue for the next hour across the
north. with MGM seeing activity in a couple of hours. Timed out
the MGM TAF for showers and storms. Once the front clears, then
conditions improve 2 to 4 hours later. Winds will increase after
sunrise with gusty conditions by the afternoon.
