.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure will slowly pass eastward to our north tonight and
Wednesday, pushing a cold front through our region overnight.
High pressure will briefly dominate Thursday. Another frontal
system is expected to move back in for this weekend and could
linger into early next week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
After a brief lull, another round of showers/storms is firing
up over eastern PA into northern Delmarva ahead of a diffuse
cold front over central PA. This front is associated with an
area of low pressure centered over southern Ontario. The Storm
Prediction Center has our forecast area highlighted in a
MARGINAL risk for severe weather while we also have a Flood
Warning for Flash flooding in effect for our urban corridor
extending northward. SB CAPES have surged to 2000+ over SE PA
into southern NJ and points southward with the limiting factor
being marginal shear. So while we likely won't see as much
severe weather as yesterday, expect storms to be strong to
locally severe as they progress eastward through the late
afternoon into this evening ...reaching the Philadelphia area by
around the 4 to 5 PM hour and our coastal counties early this
evening. Large hail and damaging winds remain the biggest
threats in terms of severe weather. In addition, PWATs still
quite high around 1.6 inches plus we've had all the recent
rainfall so concerned it won't take much for flash flooding. And
while the overall storm cell motion should be fairly quick,
profiles indicate that storms may backbuild or tend to even
train for a time adding to the flash flood threat. Bottom line,
another active period expected through the first half of the
evening!
Showers storms expected to diminish around the mid late evening
time frame while also moving off the coast. This should put an
end to the severe weather threat by around 9 PM or so with flood
threat, however, potentially lingering into the overnight due to
response time on our gauges. The good news is though that the
cold front to our west will finally move through overnight which
is why we don't expect it to remain as active as last night was.
Expect lows to drop into the 60s. Patchy fog may develop where
clouds break and winds become light.
Upper level trough will pass overhead in the wake of the surface
front for Wednesday. With a drier air mass moving in and loss of
surface forcing, don't expect coverage like today's (and nothing
like yesterday's) but some isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms expected with the upper level cold core during
the afternoon with the best chances for this being over NE PA
into NW NJ and lower chances farther south and west. Otherwise,
overall a cooler and less humid day is expected, with highs in
the upper 70s to lower 80s and dew points falling into the lower
to mid 60s.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
A dry day is expected Thursday as upper ridging builds behind the
departing H5 trough. Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures should
climb to near normal (low/mid 80s) as weak high pressure arrives.
Dew points will remain moderate (mostly low 60s) so not a bad day
overall. Beyond that, the ridge from the SW gets squashed back to
the south as H5 flow across the Plains and Midwest strengthens. A
weak low starts to form across the Great Lakes and a wavy front
develop across our area. Scattered showers and tstms will occur with
this set-up with chance pops as early as Fri afternoon. The last day
of June will have temperatures a couple degrees above normal and an
uncomfortable feel as dew points begin to climb back towards 70
again.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
A mostly unsettled pattern for the weekend and into early next week.
The wavy front remain close to our region and with some short waves
embedded in the west-southwest H5 flow aloft. We will carry high
chance or low likely pops for both Sat/Sun. but then scale things to
chance pops for Mon/Tue. A few models (12Z GFS) are showing a trough
exiting the coast Mon night/Tue with the possibility of a dry July
4th for the area. This is a bit far off in the process to have much
confidence in it happening. We'll keep the NBM's small chance pops
for Tue attm. The showery periods Fri thru the weekend will mostly
be late afternoon/early evening time periods, with plenty of dry
periods between.
Temperatures will continue to be mostly normal or perhaps a few
degrees above for the period. It'll be humid thru the period with
dew points in the upper 60s/low 70s much of the time.

.AVIATION /19Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
THE FOLLOWING DISCUSSION IS FOR KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG, KILG,
KMIV, KACY AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
Through tonight...Another round of showers/storms is moving in
and will affect PHL, PNE, TTN beginning within the 20-22z time
frame. IFR visbys in heavier showers. Also, any storms could
produce small hail and gusty winds to 30 to 40 knots if core of
storm were to move over any TAF site. Confidence low on this
though. MIV ACY also likely to be impacted by storms early this
evening. SHRA/TSRA expected to diminish mid to late evening
with most sites likely to see another round of MVFR cigs and
potentially visbys overnight in mist/patchy fog/ stratus.
Winds mainly S/SW 5 to 10 knots today then diminishing tonight.
Moderate confidence overall.
Wednesday...MVFR conditions from overnight mist/low stratus
could linger for a time into the morning with mainly VFR for the
afternoon except for brief restrictions in any showers/storms.
Best chances for showers/storms will be at ABE and TTN.

fog possible. Medium/high confid.
Fri... VFR then a chance or showers/tstms late. Lower conditions

The Small Craft Advisory has been cancelled for our southern two
ocean zones but remains in effect through tonight for our
remaining zones over the ocean, mainly for seas 4 to 6 feet.
For Wednesday, the trend in seas will continue to be generally
downward but this will be slow meaning our waters off the coast
of NJ could stay around SCA levels much of the day. Finally,
more showers and storms are likely over the waters for the
evening and overnight period tonight and these could bring
locally higher winds/seas.
Outlook...
Wed night thru Friday... sub-SCA winds and seas expected. Fair
weather Thu and a chance of showers/tstms later Friday.
Fri night thru Mon/Tue... sub-SCA conditions with daily chances for
