downpours to the mountains today and tonight. Some of the
thunderstorms may become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts
and frequent lightning the main threats. Strong gusty winds can be
expected across the ridgetops through tonight as a cold front moves
through.

Showers with thunderstorms are expected to develop and increase in
number as they move across the region today and tonight in advance of
a cold front. A few of the thunderstorms this afternoon and evening
will become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts the main
threat. However, wind shear will increase late this afternoon,
raising the possibility that an isolated tornado or two could develop
in some of the severe storms through the evening hours.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Showers with thunderstorms are expected to develop and increase in
number as they move across the region today and tonight in advance of
a cold front. A few of the thunderstorms this afternoon and evening
will become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts the main
threat. However, wind shear will increase late this afternoon,
raising the possibility that an isolated tornado or two could develop
in some of the severe storms through the evening hours. Some
localized flooding of urban areas and poor drainage areas is possible
where repeated thunderstorms move through, mainly this evening and
overnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

Laurens, southeastern Greenville, east central Anderson and
northeastern Abbeville Counties through 315 PM EDT...

At 247 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles east of Anderson, or over Honea Path, moving north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Simpsonville, Fountain Inn, Belton, Williamston, Honea Path, West
