* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above Minor Flood Stage 
  this morning to a crest between 12.0 and 12.5 feet this afternoon. 
  It will then fall below Minor Flood Stage later tonight.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Minor Flood Stage. Broad River floodwaters 
  may be approaching the base of residential home foundations

* From this morning to Saturday afternoon.
* At 2:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 12.2 feet and rising rapidly.
* Minor Flood Stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above Minor Flood Stage 
  late this morning to a crest between 16.0 feet and 17.0 feet this 
  afternoon. It will then fall below Minor Flood Stage just after 
  midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Minor Flood Stage.  The Broad River may be 
  flooding River Rd. and Little Hope Rd. near US 29.  Farmland 
  flooding is continuing adjacent to the river.

  Broad River In SC Near Blacksburg affecting Cherokee and York 
  Counties.

  Broad River In NC At Boiling Springs affecting Cleveland County.

.Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall have ended across the Broad River 
watershed and no additional rainfall is expected.  However, 
widespread rain totals of 2-4 inches occurred over the watershed, 
resulting in significant rises along the upper and middle Broad 
Rivers.  It will take several more hours for the floodwave to work 
through the Broad River system and crests near Moderate Flood Stage 
can be expected later today.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 5:15 AM EDT Friday was 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest near 19.0 feet 
  this afternoon. It will then fall below Minor Flood Stage around 
  midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Minor Flooding continues.  The Broad River 
  may be approaching Wolf Den Rd.  Floodwaters may be inundating 
  Little Hope Rd. and River Rd.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet, Minor Flooding continues.  Several 
  secondary roads near the river may be inundated.

* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 5:15 AM EDT Friday was 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest between 14.0 
  feet and 14.5 feet later this morning. It will then fall below 
  Minor Flood Stage around midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Broad River 
  floodwaters may be inundating the foundations of homes located 
  between Abe's Mountain Rd. and the river and threatening 
  residential first floors.  Low-lying roads near the vicinity of 
  Abe's Mountain may be inundated by floodwaters.  The Broad River 
  Greenway is experiencing flooding of low-elevation trails and 
  picnic areas along the river.  Floodwaters may be impacting local 
  campgrounds near the river as well.

* At 11:15 AM EDT Friday the stage was 15.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 11:15 AM EDT Friday was 15.3 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.4 feet 
  this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow 
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Moderate Flooding continues.  The Broad 
  River is likely inundating the first floor of several homes 
  between Abe's Mountain Rd. and the river, including homes located 
  along Waterway Dr.  Evacuations are likely well underway.  The 
  Broad River has reached levels not seen since March 1975.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2 
  feet on 03/15/1975.

  at 1:15 PM EDT Friday was 20.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.3 feet 
  this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow 
  morning.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Minor Flooding continues.  The Cherokee 
  Falls Hydro Project operations may be impacted by excessively high 
  flows.  Floodwaters may be impacting access to the Cherokee Falls 
  powerhouse and inundating residential yards adjacent to the river.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.8 
  feet on 05/06/2013.

* Impact...At 15.0 feet, Moderate Flooding continues. Precautionary 
  evacuations may be underway for residents within the Abe's 
  Mountain vicinity, including perhaps residents along Whelchel Rd. 
  and the Number 1 Township area as floodwaters approach the first 
  floor of several homes. Backwater effects may be causing 
  additional flooding along smaller tributaries.  The Broad River 
  has reached levels not seen since March 2003.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.0 
  feet on 03/20/2003.

  campgrounds near the river as well. The Broad River has reached 
  levels not seen since July 8, 2005.
