.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Thursday Night/...

Line of strong convection working its way across the forecast area
this afternoon ahead of a strong cold front. Already cleared the
northwestern 1/2 to 2/3 of the area and will continue a steady march
to the south and east into the early evening. Still see the potential
for isolated severe thunderstorms along this line, but any severe
storms should remain sparse. Clouds gradually clear overnight, winds
increase and temperatures fall behind the cold front.

Only seeing freezing or below freezing temperature potential in the
northeast mountain counties for tonight, where the Frost/Freeze
program hasn't started back up yet for the spring. Tomorrow
night/Friday morning a large portion of north and parts of central
Georgia are likely to see freezing temperatures so I have issued a
Freeze Watch for that time period.

Winds tonight will be strong and gusty behind the cold front, current
forecast only reaches Wind Advisory criteria in the higher elevations
of the northeast, and I have issued a Wind Advisory across that area.
Will need to keep a close eye on wind trends across the remainder of
north Georgia through the overnight hours for possible expansion of
this advisory.

.LONG TERM /Friday through Wednesday/...

It brings me great joy to say the longterm looks relatively quiet
after the past week or so. Deep trough over eastern CONUS will be
moving offshore and away from the CWA, bringing in AVA and sfc high
pressure with it through Friday. Cool temperatures will hang around
Friday into Friday night with highs still a good 10-15 degrees below
average. Lows should duck down enough for some frost/freeze
concerns, though won't be as cool as the previous night. Sfc high
pressure sticks around through the rest of the long term, keeping us
dry and mostly cloud free. Airmass will modify through the week, so
temperatures will pick back up, though we don't see much in the way
of significant moisture return, which will keep dewpoints relatively
lower. As such, will have to monitor for fire wx concerns starting
next week, though our relatively heavy rains over the past few days
should help prevent any significant issues.

Mixture of mainly MVFR, with areas of IFR and VFR, conditions across
the area through the afternoon and into the evening. Should see most
areas VFR by 06Z, although there will likely be some lingering lower
conditions across the far east and south for a few hours after.
Winds turn west to northwest and increase to 10-16kt through the
afternoon w/ gusts 20-28kt. Wind speeds increase further this
evening with northwest winds 16-22kt and gusts 27-32kt through the
overnight and into tomorrow morning. Winds should begin decreasing
some by Thursday afternoon. Line of moderate to strong convection
will continue to sink south through the forecast area this afternoon
and evening. Should be clear of the northern TAF sites by 20-22Z and
past the southern sites 01-05Z.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue across the
outlook area through tonight. Strong to severe thunderstorms are
possible, mainly south of the Interstate 20 corridor during the
