Strong winds with gusts between 40 and 50 mph are expected near and south of I-40, though damaging winds will be possible across the South Central Mountains and southwest Chaves County where gusts near 60 mph will be possible. Critical fire weather conditions may also return for the east central plains due to the strong winds and low humidity values. Snow will be focused over the Northern Mountains Tuesday and northeast New Mexico Tuesday night through mid day Wednesday. Blowing snow and reduced visibility will also be a concern across northeast New Mexico due to gusty northerly winds. Snow totals of a few to several inches are possible, with the highest amounts near Raton Pass. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated. 34
