The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Morrison County in central Minnesota...
  Todd County in central Minnesota...
  Douglas County in west central Minnesota...

* Until 1115 AM CDT Friday.

* At 508 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Alexandria, Long Prairie, Staples, Browerville, Clarissa, Motley, 
  Randall, Evansville, Eagle Bend, Carlos, Bertha, Brandon, 
  Flensburg, Lake Osakis, Little Sauk, Holmes City, Cushing, Round 
  Prairie, Leaf Valley and Miltona.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means rapidly rising flood water is imminent 
or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground 
immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take 
immediate precautions to protect life and property. Never walk or 
drive through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
