.DISCUSSION...

Most of the Midsouth has seen or will soon see a bit of sun
today, though more clouds are streaming in from the West.
Temperatures are in the 50s across most of the area...struggling
to warm due to the cloud cover and moderate cold air advection.

It will be cool tonight, with most of the area dipping into the
30s. Frost is possible overnight, mainly along the Tennessee
River.

A deep trough will keep temperatures below normal for the upcoming
work week, but trend warmer through at least Thursday when highs
should be back in the 60s to low 70s.

Tomorrow, a weak, fast moving disturbance will round the base of
the trough, centered over the Plains, then eject off to the
Northeast via northern portions of the Midsouth, then over the
Appalachians. This feature will likely enhance cloud cover over
much of the Midsouth, and could produce a few light showers over
Northeast Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel and Northwest Tennessee.

Additional frost is possible, across much of the area Wednesday
morning as temperatures dip into the mid 30s. Afternoon highs
should warm into the low to mid 60s. Skies should be mostly clear
Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday, a surface high will shift East of the area resulting in
return flow over the Midsouth Thursday into Friday and increasing
moisture.

There may be another round of light showers Friday night as a cold
front associated with a trough and surface low over the Ohio
valley shifts across the region. No thunderstorms are expected.

The weekend looks mostly clear and dry again with slightly below
normal temperatures.

.AVIATION...18Z TAFs

Latest GOES satellite imagery shows the expansive MVFR deck
continuing to erode across the Mid-South. The northern sites
(JBR/MKL/MEM) should be VFR by 18Z if not shortly thereafter.
MVFR deck will persist at TUP for a few more hours then lift to
VFR (around 21Z). Elevated NW winds will continue to die down and
will start to turn to the NNE 4-6kts tonight.

VFR will prevail through the morning at all sites with cloud cover
returning. NNE winds will start to increase by mid-morning
7-10kts.
