AND NORTHEASTERN ALLEN PARISHES...

At 538 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have 
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Doppler radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
         drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lafayette, Alexandria, Opelousas, Pineville, Catahoula, Breaux 
  Bridge, Oakdale, Carencro, Ville Platte, St. Martinville,

.AVIATION...
Hurricane Laura has made landfall south of Lake Charles and
continues to move northward. Conditions will continue to
deteriorate as Laura moves north through the area with widespread
MVFR/areas of IFR ceilings and visibilities developing. Gusty
showers and thunderstorms will continue through the morning with
hurricane force winds expected over the next few hours. Winds and
rain will gradually diminish from south to north during Thursday
morning as Laura moves northward and weakens.
