...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...
Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Eel River...Mill Creek...
Mississinewa River...Wabash River...White River...Youngs Creek...
.Precipitation of up to about 2 inches fell Sunday into Monday,
heaviest within 50 miles north and south of Interstate 70 across
the state. Flooding is expected to occur at several locations on
the Wabash River from Lafayette southward, and on the White River
from Anderson southward. Flooding along the lower reaches will
last past February 20.
The latest forecast model data is predicting flood crests to
generally be close to, but probably slightly below, what we saw in
January. Crests along the White River are expected to come close to
moderate flood state at Spencer, Elliston, Newberry, and
Edwardsport. County, state, and federal roads and some river cabins
may be impacted. In addition, a few homes in Waverly may be
affected. The Mississinewa River near Ridgeville will come near or
perhaps onto State Road 1 near State Road 28.
Flooding on the Driftwood River is expected to last no more than a
couple days.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river

.Flooding is underway along several central and southern Indiana
waterways as a result of up to 2 inches of precipitation that fell
Sunday into Monday. The core of heaviest precipitation occurred
within 50 miles north and south of Interstate 70 across the state.
The bulk of the water will show up in the White River south of
Indianapolis, where crests are expected to be up to about 5 feet
above flood stage. Flooding along the lower reaches of the Wabash
and White Rivers currently are predicted to last until the end of
next week.
The latest forecast model data is now predicting flood crests along
the White River to be lower than what was predicted Monday morning.
This will give us crests lower than what we saw in January.
Predictions for the Wabash are very similiar to Monday's
predictions.
Flood impacts should mainly be confined to roads near the waterways,
agricultural land, bottomlands, and levees. Please see the specific
impacts listed for your location of interest below or by going to
the web page described below.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Flooding is underway along several central and southern Indiana
waterways as a result of up to 2 inches of precipitation that fell
Sunday into Monday. The bulk of the water will show up in the White
River south of Indianapolis, where crests are expected to be up to
about 5 feet above flood stage. Flooding along the lower reaches of
the Wabash and White Rivers currently are predicted to last until the
end of next week.
An additional inch of rain is expected to fall over the next few
days which may prolong river flooding.
Flood impacts should mainly be confined to roads near the waterways,
agricultural land, bottom-lands, and levees. Please see the

impacts listed for your location of interest below or by going to
the web page described below.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go

Sunday into Monday. Another precipitation event this Wednesday and
early Wednesday night will bring up to an inch of water, heaviest
south. This latter event will bring secondary crests to waterways at
some locations and prolong the original crest at others.
The White River will see crests up to about 5 feet above flood stage
and the Wabash will see crests up to about 3 feet. Predictions are
holding steady for flooding along the lower reaches of the Wabash and
White Rivers to last through the end of next week. Flooding on the
East Fork White River is expected to be confined to primarily
the Seymour area, with two crests around 14.6 feet.
Today's forecast model run of expected crests is largely similar to
yesterday's. This will give us crests lower than what we saw in
January.

in Indiana...
East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...
.Flooding is underway along several central and southern Indiana
waterways as a result of up to 2 inches of precipitation that fell
Sunday into Monday. Another quarter inch to an inch of
precipitation has fallen this afternoon and evening, heaviest
south. An additional quarter inch of precipitation is possible.
This later event will bring secondary crests to waterways at some
locations and prolong the original crest at others.
Flood impacts should mainly be confined to roads near the waterways,
agricultural land, bottomlands, and levees. Please see the specific
impacts listed for your location of interest below or by going to
the web page described below.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...about 2.5
feet lower. Lost River did not contribute much water during this
June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

begin to flood. Agricultural flooding spreads to higher land.
Seep water is noticeable behind levees. Some elevated river
cottages are surrounded by water. Several county or township roads
east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine and Hutsonville in
Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

Wabash River...White River...
.The Wabash River at Clinton in west central Indiana is no longer
expected to reach or surpass flood stage. After rising about another
half foot through Thursday night it will crest at about 16 feet, 2
feet below flood stage.
Up and downstream river gage readings from Ravenswood in central
Indiana show flooding is no longer a threat on the White River at
Ravenswood. The river will continue its downward trend from about
4.3 feet Thursday morning.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Be alert to flood debris on previously flooded roads. Keep children
away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests
should remain alert to changing river conditions.

Issued at 351 PM EST Mon Feb 10 2020 High pressure will bring dry weather back to the area through Tuesday night. A large upper trough in concert with a very strong upper level jet will develop low pressure across eastern Texas and Louisiana mid week, with the system pushing quickly northeast through the Ohio Valley and into New England. This system will bring widespread precipitation to the area, much of which looks to fall as rain, with snow bookending the rain Wednesday morning and Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Light slushy snow accumulations will be possible across mainly the northern half of central Indiana. An arctic airmass will follow, bringing much colder temperatures for the end of the week and the start of the weekend. && .NEAR TERM /Tonight/... Issued at 351 PM EST Mon Feb 10 2020 A quiet night is expected across central Indiana. Low level cloud cover should persist most of the night, but ongoing cold advection will allow temperatures to get down into the mid 20s to low 30s across the area. && .SHORT TERM /Tuesday through Thursday/... Issued at 351 PM EST Mon Feb 10 2020 Main focus for the short term is on the dynamic system set to impact the area Wednesday into Thursday morning. Precipitation at onset Wednesday morning will likely fall in the form of snow, with a changeover to rain proceeding northward through the area as warm air aloft arrives and surface temperatures rise well into the 30s. This changeover will then reverse from the northwest Wednesday night as the low pulls away and cold advection begins. Total snow accumulations of 1 to as much as 2-3 inches are possible across the northern half, with highest amounts over the far north - although with the rain this may be deceiving as much of the snow may melt or turn to wet slush. Profiles suggest freezing rain or sleet will not be significant contributors to amounts. The low track is fairly well clustered in the GFS ensembles for being 36-48 hours out, but minor low level thermal profile differences will make a significant different in the precipitation type outcomes. Stay tuned to forecast updates as this system approaches. && .LONG TERM /Thursday night through Monday/... Issued at 251 PM EST Mon Feb 10 2020 Models in good agreement that surface high pressure will build in Thursday night and Friday in the wake of an upper trough of low pressure. This and a dry column will allow for clearing skies and very cold temperatures late in the week. Blend suggests overnight lows in the single digits to near 15 degrees Thursday night and afternoon highs only in the upper teens and upper 20s on Friday. This will then abruptly change starting Saturday as the surface low moves to the east and allows for a quick warmup and increased moisture. The continued southerly flow will interact with waves in the upper flow and bring chances for precipitation starting Saturday night. Model soundings and thicknesses support mostly rain by Sunday afternoon but a mix possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. Continued low level warm advection supports above normal temperatures by Sunday. Areas near and south of Interstate 70 could see 50 degrees plus by Monday. && .AVIATION /Discussion for the 11/00Z TAF Issuance/...
