Warning for portions of the following waterways in central and
southern Indiana...
East Fork White River...Clifty Creek...
.Lowland flooding will develop or continue along the East Fork White
River at Shoals and along Clifty Creek at Hartsville. This flooding
will impact low agricultural areas, river roads, and parks.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Widespread flooding continues along many rivers and streams in
central and southern Indiana this evening. A few sites have or will
briefly go into moderate flood over the next 12 to 36 hours.
Otherwise, lowland flooding will continue. Lowland flooding will be
extensive in some areas, particularly across southern and
southwestern portions of central Indiana.
This flooding will impact extensive agricultural land, numerous
local and a few state roads, river parks, and other low areas near
waterways. All those with interests along local streams and rivers
should pay close attention to changing river conditions and
forecasts at least over the next several days and perhaps through
the end of the month at a few locations.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Persons with interests in flood prone areas that are not protected by
levees should take precautions immediately. Keep children from
flooded areas. Motorists should travel high ground routes and avoid
roads that frequently flood.
Many roads in southern Indiana will be flooded by several feet of
water. Do not even think about driving through flooded roads..You
will not make it.

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 12.8 feet by late Tuesday night. It will fall below
flood stage by Sunday March 29.
* At 13.2 feet...During the July 2015 summer flood, water began to
overflow the road to the new Williams Bridge. SR 450 closes in
several locations. Most local roads in the flood plain are
impassable at this level. Huron-Williams Road flooded south of
Port Williams Road. The summer flood crest of 13.2 feet came 3
weeks later in the summer season than the June 28, 1960 crest of
15.1 feet and is believed to be the latest for the summer season
since at least the late 1940s.

* At 13.2 feet...Lowland flooding in progress along Driftwood River in
northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club
area flooded. At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to
Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of
its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is
flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river
bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally
flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR
900W.

Creek.

.Widespread flooding continues along many rivers and streams in
central and southern Indiana this evening. A portion of the East
Fork White River near Seymour is in moderate flood and expected to
remain moderate until tomorrow night. Otherwise, lowland flooding
will continue. Lowland flooding will be extensive in some areas,
particularly across southern and southwestern portions of central
Indiana.
This flooding will impact extensive agricultural land, numerous
local and a few state roads, river parks, and other low areas near
waterways. All those with interests along local streams and rivers
should pay close attention to changing river conditions and
forecasts at least over the next several days and perhaps through
the end of the month at a few locations.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Flooding continued along many rivers in central and southern Indiana
Saturday evening as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall
the latter half of last week. Rain gauge corrected radar estimates
indicated rain amounts totaled between about three quarters of an
inch in Carroll County of northern central Indiana to spotty areas of
nearly four inches in central and southern Indiana. The heaviest
rain chiefly feel in a west-southwest to east-northeast line from
Sullivan and Knox counties in southwestern Indiana, through Brown
County in central Indiana, to Rush and Decatur counties in east
central.
The East Fork White River around Seymour is in moderate flood and is
expected to remain so until late Sunday afternoon. As of Saturday
evening, the river stage was at 18 feet, which typically puts half of
the Jackson County floodplain underwater and floods many state and
county roads.
Elsewhere, extensive lowland flooding continues, affecting
considerable agricultural land, parks, local and state roads, river
cabins, and possibly some low lying homes.
Other than a light rainfall event expected Sunday and Sunday night,
dry conditions will allow waterways to recede. A heavier rain event
will come through Tuesday.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...
.Flooding continues along many rivers in central and southern
Indiana as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the
latter half of last week. Estimated rainfall amounts totaled
between about three quarters of an inch in Carroll County of
northern central Indiana to spotty areas of nearly four inches in
central and southern Indiana.
The East Fork White River around Seymour is in moderate flood and is
expected to remain so until later today. As of midday Sunday, the
river stage was at 17.5 feet, which typically causes extensive
agricultural flooding and floods several state and county roads.
Elsewhere, extensive lowland flooding continues, affecting
considerable agricultural land, parks, local and state roads, river
cabins, and possibly some low lying homes.
Other than a light rainfall event expected today and tonight, dry
conditions will allow waterways to recede. A heavier rain event
will come through Tuesday.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...
East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...
.Flooding continues along the major rivers in central and southern
Indiana as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the
latter half of last week. Estimated rainfall amounts totaled
between about three quarters of an inch in Carroll County of
northern central Indiana to spotty areas of nearly four inches in
central and southern Indiana.
Moderate flooding on the East Fork White River around Seymour ended
late Sunday afternoon. This places all Indiana river gage sites in
minor flood category or lower. Mount Carmel is predicted to come
very close to moderate flood stage however around March 26 and 27.
Extensive lowland flooding continues, affecting considerable
agricultural land, parks, local and state roads, river cabins, and
possibly some low lying homes.
Dry weather is expected Monday, but rainfall of up to nine tenths of
an inch will fall Tuesday and Tuesday evening.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Flooding continues along the major rivers in central and southern
Indiana as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the
latter half of last week. Estimated rainfall amounts totaled between
about three quarters of an inch in Carroll County of northern
central Indiana to spotty areas of nearly four inches in central and
southern Indiana.
Extensive lowland flooding continues, affecting considerable
agricultural land, parks, local and state roads, river cabins, and
possibly some low lying homes.
Dry weather is expected today, but rainfall of less than an inch
will fall Tuesday and Tuesday evening.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...
.Flooding continues along the major rivers in central and southern
Indiana as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the
latter half of last week. Estimated rainfall amounts totaled between
about three quarters of an inch in Carroll County of northern
central Indiana to spotty areas of nearly four inches in central and
southern Indiana.
Extensive lowland flooding continues, affecting considerable
agricultural land, parks, local and state roads, river cabins, and
possibly some low lying homes.
Additional rainfall of up to 1/3 inch fell yesterday. Heaviest totals were
in south central Indiana. Rainfall from yesterday's event is not expected
to cause a secondary crest at this time. Rain chances continue for Thursday
through Saturday with heaviest rates Friday night through Saturday. This will
prolong flooding into next week.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Creek...
.Lowland flooding will continue or redevelop along portions of the
East Fork White River, White River, Wabash River, and Wildcat Creek
in central and southern Indiana. Widespread additional rainfall of
one to two inches is expected through the weekend, which will cause
water levels to stabilize or even climb again in many areas. Lowland
flooding will likely remain extensive along particularly the lower
reaches of the White and Wabash Rivers in southwest Indiana.
Flooding has impacted or will continue to impact numerous local
roads, a few state highways, many river parks, low agricultural
land, and a few river cabins. Flooding will likely last into early
April in some areas.
Those with interests along area rivers should pay close attention to
changing river conditions and updated forecasts at least into next
week.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Lowland flooding will continue or redevelop along portions of the
East Fork White River, White River, Wabash River, and Wildcat Creek
in central Indiana. Widespread additional rainfall of one to three
inches is expected through the weekend, which will cause water
levels to stabilize or even climb again in many areas.
Flooding has impacted or will continue to impact numerous local
roads, a few state highways, many river parks, low agricultural
land, and a few river cabins. Flooding will likely last into early
April in some areas.
Those with interests along area rivers should pay close attention to
changing river conditions and updated forecasts at least into next
week.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Issued at 351 PM EDT Fri Mar 20 2020 Tonight will start out cloudy across the area with northwesterly winds around 10 to 20 mph and gusts decreasing from around 30 mph. Models are progging cloud cover to quickly dissipate, but based on observations and satellite loop think the clearing is too fast and thus slowed it in the forecast. Even so, should see some scattering during the overnight hours.
