...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING 
FOR NORTHWESTERN OTTER TAIL AND EAST CENTRAL WILKIN COUNTIES...

At 401 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 4.5 and 7 inches of rain have 
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Doppler radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fergus Falls, Pelican Rapids, Ottertail Lake, Lake Lida, 
  Ottertail, Rothsay, Star Lake, Elizabeth, Erhard, Foxhome, 
  Richville, Maplewood State Park, Carlisle, Amor, Phelps, Edwards 
  and Everdell.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 94 in Minnesota between mile markers 34 and 53.

Additional rainfall amounts exceeding 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message - Turn around, don't drown. Don't travel through 
flooded areas. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying 
spots.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where 
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become 
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or 
creeks.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Otter Tail County in west central Minnesota...
  East Central Wilkin County in west central Minnesota...

* Until 300 PM CDT Friday.

* At 854 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms overnight 
  produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 7 inches 
  of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.
