.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United 
States Geological Survey.

* At 572 feet...Minor flooding continues in the woodlands...fields 
  and pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the gage 
  behind Plant Hammond. The water reaches a low lying portion of a 
  parking lot near the intakes behind the plant. The boat ramp near 
  the intakes and a small portion of an access road near and under 
  the Georgia Highway 100 bridge will be under two feet of water.

.SHORT TERM /Today through Wednesday/...

The forecast area will be affected by two different systems during
the short term. A fast moving short wave will be moving through the
OH/TN Valley area this evening into the overnight. This should bring
clouds and some light precipitation to far northeast GA overnight. A
slight chance of light rain has been continued for that area after
midnight. Temperatures should drop into the mid to upper 30s for
that area...with dew points near freezing. There is the potential
for a brief mix of light rain and snow for the northeast
corner...mainly at higher elevations. No accumulations expected.
Temperatures across north GA overnight do not support a Freeze
Warning at this time. Also increased winds and clouds should inhibit
frost.

Meanwhile...a low pressure system will track along an old frontal
boundary across north FL this afternoon and overnight. This should
bring low pops for showers and a few thunderstorms to a portion of
east and central GA this afternoon through Wednesday morning.
Showers and thunderstorms should diminish Wednesday afternoon as the
surface low pulls northeast into the Carolinas.

.LONG TERM /Wednesday Night through Monday/...

Zonal flow will push the lingering precip out of southern Georgia
late Wednesday bringing relatively stable dry air in behind it until
the weekend. Moisture begins to return to the area out in front of
another pacific low on Saturday resulting in an increased chance of
pops. The GFS pushes the wave through quickly, while the Euro holds
off on the bulk of the precip until Sunday. Used a blend of the
models to hold at least a chance precip through the entire weekend
until Monday when models come back into agreement and bring a strong
chance for thunderstorms out ahead of another short wave.

Temperatures will stay slightly below seasonal average for the
remainder of the week with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the
mid 40s before rebounding this weekend back into the 70s.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Precip chances decline steadily on Wednesday and both the Euro and
the GFS begin to take on a westerly zonal flow pulling dry air into
the area. RH values fall into the 20s and 30s across northern
Georgia and upper 30s to low 40s down south. Surface winds around
5 mph gusting to 10 stay light out of the west becoming NW into
Thursday. High pressure and dry air aloft should allow for
adequate smoke dispersion in the afternoon, and minimize morning
inversion chances.

.AVIATION... 12Z Update...
Expect VFR across the taf sites with sct050 possible this
afternoon. Short wave moving through the TN Valley overnight
could produce some mid level clouds across the taf sites...with
some light rain possible north of KATL to KAHN. Winds should
remain west to northwest...then becoming more north to northwest
and increasing to 10-12kts and gusty after 05z.
