  Plant Hammond. The access road near the intakes behind the plant 
  will be under 4 feet of water. The boat ramp near the intakes and a
  small portion of an access road near and under the Georgia Highway 
  100 bridge will be under 7 feet of water. The water level will 
  approach the foundation of a power supply building for intakes to a
  pulp mill plant around one half mile upstream from the gage.

  the Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The public should not use 
  this portion of the trail. In addition...the lowest sections of the
  Charles Jones Gateway Park will flood. Portions of agricultural

* At 20.0 feet...Moderate flooding begins. Significant flooding 
  occurs in the woodlands and pastures upstream and downstream from 
  the gage on U.S. Highway 280. The access road to the boat ramp on 
  the Wheeler County side of the river begins to flood. Around a 
  dozen homes on Dead River Road in the south end of Montgomery 
  County become surrounded with water. A few homes will have some 
  flooding. Portions of Dead River Road will be covered by at least 
  two feet of water.

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Friday Night/...

A cold front is moving southeastward across the forecast area, and
is currently positioned across east-central Georgia. Showers and
isolated thunderstorms are ongoing in the areas along and ahead of
the front. While the threat for severe weather has ended across the
area, with a low instability/high shear environment in place ahead
of the front, there is still a chance for some isolated strong
thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds in east-central
Georgia through mid-afternoon. Precipitation has mostly come to an
end across north and west Georgia, with only some isolated light
showers and trace amounts of additional rainfall expected through
the remainder of the afternoon today. Rain chances will also end
across central and east Georgia this evening after the cold front
clears the area. As a result, the Flash Flood Watch over far north
Georgia has been allowed to expire. Nonetheless, several rivers,
creeks, and streams remain in or near flood stage, which will
continue through the end of the period.

Northwesterly surface winds behind the cold front will usher in a
considerably cooler airmass across the area. Breezy conditions are
anticipated through the afternoon and evening behind the cold front,
with northwesterly winds of 10-15 kts and gusts of 20-25 kts. Some
locations in the higher elevations of north Georgia could flirt with
wind advisory criteria this afternoon, but a widespread enough
event warranting an advisory issuance is not expected. Wind speeds
will gradually diminish during the overnight hours. On Friday, a
strong upper-level ridge and surface high pressure are expected to
build over the eastern CONUS, promoting clear and dry conditions
over north and central Georgia through the remainder of the short
term period. In contrast with the previous several days, low
temperatures Friday morning will range from the upper 20s in far
north Georgia to the upper 40s in east-central Georgia. High
temperatures on Friday are expected to be mainly in the 40s and
50s, followed by lows in the 20s and 30s across the area early
Saturday morning.

.LONG TERM /Saturday through Thursday/...

The long term period picks up on Saturday morning with an
upper-level ridge across the eastern U.S. and surface high pressure
centered on the Eastern Seaboard. The ridge will be pushed out over
the Atlantic as weak longwave troughing sets in at the upper levels
across the eastern U.S. on Sunday. Models differ a good bit in their
handling of precipitation on Sunday... The ECMWF develops a surface
low in the northern Gulf of Mexico and suggests rain chances for
parts of the CWA, while the GFS is much less gung-ho with precip.

The most recent model runs show better agreement on a mostly rain-
free Monday, and they also agree on upper-level flow becoming west-
southwesterly with increasing moisture starting on Tuesday.
Interestingly, GFS PWATs for Tuesday are near 1.6" across much of
north and central Georgia, while the daily mean is 0.56" and the
daily maximum is 1.34" (per FFC sounding climatology from SPC). In
addition, there is a strong signal amongst the models for rain
across the CWA on Tuesday, so have gone with likely PoPs across much
of north Georgia. A cold front looks to push through the CWA around
midweek, though timing of the front and the timing/coverage of the
associated rain is uncertain.

Highs and lows will be within several degrees of normal for Saturday
and Sunday. For Monday through Thursday, highs and lows will trend
above average, making for spring-like weather.

SHRA/TSRA is ongoing across east and central Georgia, but has come
to an end at the metro TAF sites as the cold front has cleared the
area. Some isolated SHRA is possible in the areas behind the front,
but coverage is not sufficient to warrant more than VCSH through the
afternoon. MVFR ceilings remain in place across the area.
Improvement is expected through the afternoon, with VFR conditions
expected to develop by 22-00Z and remain through the end of the
period. NW winds of 10-15 kts and gusts of 20-25 kts are expected to
gradually diminish tonight, dropping to 7-10 kts by Friday
morning.
