This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Hot temperatures peaking in the lower to mid 90s are expected again
today. People are encouraged to reduce time spent outdoors, take
frequent breaks in air conditioning or shade, and stay well
hydrated.

In addition, the combination of low humidity, gusty winds, and very
dry tree litter and other fuels will increase the risk of adverse
fire behavior today. Extra caution should be exercised during any
outdoor burning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Strong storms are possible Friday afternoon through early evening.
Wind gusts over 50 mph and large hail are possible.

WILSON AND EAST CENTRAL JOHNSTON COUNTIES UNTIL 645 PM EDT...

At 545 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles east of Smithfield, moving northeast at 30 mph.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Wilson, Fremont, Princeton, Lucama, Stantonsburg, Black Creek,
Pikeville, Saratoga, Eureka and Nahunta.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
40 mph are capable of knocking down tree limbs and blowing around
trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other light outdoor
objects.

At 618 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles northwest of
Goldsboro to near Laurinburg. Movement was east at 30 mph.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Fayetteville, Laurinburg, Smithfield, Raeford, Lillington, Fort
Bragg, Dunn, Benson, Godwin and Pope AFB.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
