The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Western Connecticut
  Western Massachusetts
  Southern and eastern New York
  Northeast Pennsylvania
  Southern Vermont

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 105 PM until
  800 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
  Widespread damaging winds expected with isolated significant
    gusts to 80 mph likely
  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events
    to 2.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...A line of severe storms will progress rapidly east from
central Pennsylvania with additional cells developing ahead of it
across the Hudson Valley vicinity. This activity will pose a risk
for a few tornadoes along with widespread damaging winds.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles
north and south of a line from 30 miles south of Binghamton NY to 20
miles east northeast of Pittsfield MA. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
