Currently...Latest sfc map shows an advancing cold front is nearing
the Volusia/Lake Co borders with much colder air in the wake of the
feature poised to enter northernmost central Florida later this AM.
Areas of light pcpn are quickly moving across the I-4 corridor with
sct light to moderate pcpn quickly advancing towards the remainder
of the area from the gulf coast.
Today-Tonight...The cold front near our northern counties will slide
slowly southward through the area today. A slug of quite high
moisture (precipitable water 1.4 to 1.5 inches) is still forecast to
advance eastward from the Gulf of Mexico across the south half of
the area just ahead of the front, where the GFS shows the highest
rainfall amounts. Rainfall this morning will be light with some
light to moderate showers possible during the aftn as the energetic
mid/upr feature passes ovhd and enters the Atlc later today.
Extensive cloud cover, rain cooling and cold advection working
southward will result in a raw day with high temps only near 50 in
the far north. Highs should reach the mid 60s in the south and
possibly near 70 in Martin county before the low clouds roll in and
precip commences. Temps are even shown falling slightly this
afternoon. Behind the front, north winds will pick up late in the
day to 15 to 20 mph and gusty. This will likely occur a little after
sunset along the Treasure Coast.
Low clouds will continue overnight and some light precip may linger
in the north as drier air advects in at the lowest levels. A
brisk northeast to north flow in the lower levels will bring a
chance of showers to the coast, with likely PoPs continuing along
the Treasure Coast. Low temps are shown having a rather large
range, from the mid 30s in the northwest to the mid-upper 50s
along the Treasure Coast. With northerly winds up to 10-15 mph
during the overnight hours, a wind chill advisory will be necessary
for portions of the north. Will evaluate ltst 12Z suite of guid
before determining counties in tonights advisory.

.AVIATION...
VFR ceilings are overspreading the area but as low level moistening
continues early this morning, these ceilings will lower and become
IFR conds over the north (I-4 and metro Orlando) will spread over
the remainder of the area into afternoon. The low ceilings will
linger into tonight, but should become MVFR northward from about ISM-
MCO-TIX. Gusty north winds 20-25 knots should kick in LEE-DAB by 18-
21z and towards 00z or after south of there.

Today-Tonight...Cold front is forecast to sag into the northern
zones by late morning and reach the southern waters late today.
There has been little change with guidance, which shows 25-30 knot
north/northeast winds building down behind the boundary. Small Craft
Advisory incrementally goes into effect from N-S with a Gale Warning
starting at 21z north of Sebastian Inlet, and 02/03z south of
Sebastian.

Wind chill values tonight are forecast to drop into the 30s near and west of Interstate 4, with some upper 20s possible late. A wind chill advisory may be necessary for some portions of that area. Make sure to dress appropriately for these much colder than normal conditions. .RIP CURRENT IMPACT... Gusty north winds building down the coast today will produce rough surf and a strong longshore current by this afternoon along the beaches of Volusia and Brevard counties. Strong rip currents are also likely near piers, jetties and reefs. Only enter the surf near a lifeguard. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... Very hazardous boating conditions will develop behind a cold front that moves south into the Volusia coastal waters by late this morning and reaches the Treasure Coast waters this evening. Small Craft Advisories will go into effect late this morning and during the afternoon, then become Gale Warnings over all of the waters late this afternoon and evening. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. Hazardous beach and boating conditions will continue through mid week due to an extended period of gusty northeast to north winds. Large breaking waves and higher than normal astronomical tides could lead to minor beach erosion.
