The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northern Boone County in central Missouri...
Western Audrain County in central Missouri...
* Until 1045 AM CDT.
* At 646 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain had fallen
across the warned area. 4 to 5 inches of rain have fallen in a
small area of northwest Boone and western Audrain counties. Some
of the heaviest rain fell near the headwaters of Perche
Creek. Flash flooding is expected.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia, Centralia, Hallsville, Sturgeon, Murry, Midway and
Harrisburg.
This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between exits 121 and 128.
This also includes Finger Lakes State Park and Jewell Cemetery
Historic Site.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
