This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central
Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west
central Illinois.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

Hot and humid conditions will occur again today, with heat indices
peaking around 105 degrees this afternoon.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon
into this evening. There is a marginal risk of severe storms,
with damaging wind gusts the primary threat. Torrential rainfall and
frequent lightning are also possible with the stronger storms.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHEASTERN MENARD...SOUTHERN
LOGAN AND NORTHEASTERN SANGAMON COUNTIES UNTIL 315 PM CDT...

At 238 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorm from
near Elkhart to Athens, moving southeast at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Lincoln, Sherman, Athens, Mount Pulaski, Williamsville, Elkhart,
Middletown, Chestnut, Cornland, Spaulding, Dawson, Buffalo,
Broadwell, Cantrall and Fancy Prairie.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 55 between mile markers 103 and 126.
 Interstate 72 between mile markers 115 and 120.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
