This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...
Storms will continue to move across an area south of a line from
Columbus to Monticello to Lexington today. Some of the storms
could be strong to severe. Any severe storms that occur could
possibly produce damaging wind gusts or perhaps a brief tornado.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday...

Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain
possible are expected to continue to move through the area Monday
particularly across east central Georgia.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged
to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to

At 528 AM EST...a line of strong thunderstorms extended from
Cobbtown to near New Branch to Charlotteville...and moving east at
35 mph.

  HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning
           and heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Some locations in the path of these storms include
Lyons, Uvalda, Santa Claus, Alston, Center, Toombs Central, Ohoopee,
New Branch, Ponderosa, McNatt Falls, South Thompson, English Eddy,
Grays Landing, Rock Springs, Cedar Crossing, Johnson Corner and
Charlotteville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
