* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East central Dunn County in southwestern North Dakota...

* Until 1045 PM CDT/945 PM MDT/.

* At 747 PM CDT/647 PM MDT/, Doppler radar showed a nearly 
  stationary thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned 
  area. One to two inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding 
  is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Halliday, Mckenzie Bay Recreation Area and Twin Buttes. 

An additional one to two inches of rain is possible in the warned 
area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

At 836 PM CDT/736 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms 
producing heavy rain across the warned area. 3 to 4 inches of rain 
has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Halliday, Mckenzie Bay Recreation Area and Twin Buttes. 

An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible in the warned area.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East central Dunn County in southwestern North Dakota...

* Until 445 AM CDT Friday/345 AM MDT Friday/.

* At 1030 PM CDT/930 PM MDT/, trained weather spotters reported 
  thunderstorms producing torrential rain across the warned area, 
  specifically, just south of Twin Buttes. There, three inches of 
  rain has fallen, and it was still raining hard, with more storms 
  moving in later. Some creeks were described as running very hard 
  at bankfull, and some out of their banks. With more rain coming in 
  the flash flood warning is now extended until 345 AM MDT Friday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Halliday, Mckenzie Bay Recreation Area and Twin Buttes. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

MDT/ FOR EAST CENTRAL DUNN COUNTY...

At 1212 AM CDT/1112 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms 
producing heavy rain across the warned area.  Flash flooding was 
reported earlier in this area and the flash flood warning 
continues.

Storms will be ending over this area by 1 AM MDT, however, excessive 
runoff will continue even after the storms have moved away. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Halliday, Mckenzie Bay Recreation Area and Twin Buttes. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying

MDT/ FOR EAST CENTRAL DUNN COUNTY...

At 146 AM CDT/1246 AM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms 
were ending over the warned area with showers continuing. Additional 
rain amounts tonight, after 1245 AM MDT, will be an inch or less. 
However, excessive runoff from the rains will continue.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Halliday, Mckenzie Bay Recreation Area and Twin Buttes.
