over the Seward Peninsula Wednesday morning, and then over 
Kotzebue Sound by Wed afternoon as 1011 mb. A second low will 
move into the western Bering Sea Wed morning and then will move 
east across the Bering Sea through Thu evening.

.SYNOPSIS...
A low over the western Bering Sea will continue to bring hazardous
weather the west side of the state. The low then exits to the
north and northeast into the Arctic Ocean on Wednesday. The
interior remains under a long lasting ridge that slowly.

.DISCUSSION...

500 MB...A 500 low over the far western Bering Sea with strong
southwest flow across the main body of the Bering will continue
through Tuesday afternoon (00Z WED) with good agreement among the
model solutions. By Wednesday afternoon the low combines with a
Siberian northeast of Wrangel Island as another 500 MB reloads off
the Kamchatka peninsula for another developing Bering storm for
the weekend. Over the eastern interior a ridge aloft will slowly
drift to the east through the period with southwesterly flow aloft
replacing it from west to east.

Surface...The main triad of models continue in the near term with
good agreement on the surface low in the western Bering Sea as it
tracks to the northeast into the Bering Strait on Wednesday
morning and then combines with a Siberian low over the Arctic
Ocean on Thursday. High pressure holds on strong over the eastern
interior regions through the period.

West Coast and Western Interior...
Strong storm in the western Bering Sea with southwest surface and
upper level flow will bring a variety of hazards to the region
over the next 60 hours. The duration of the event could keep the
impacts to the Yukon River communities of Emmonak, Nunam Iqua
(Sheldon Point) and Alakanuk down from elevated threats of
coastal flooding. Will retain the watch for another 12 hour
period. Winter storm warnings for the snow and blowing snow for
tonight into Tuesday seem on track along with marine hazards for
the region of Norton Sound and north through Wednesday morning.

North Slope and Brooks Range...Areas of low clouds, fog and light
snow will continue between a the occasional fair weather periods
along the coast. Inland fairly quiet period for the short term of
the forecast. Main issues will be blowing and drifting snow,
however not to the point of needing any hazardous weather
headlines.

Eastern and Central Interior...Fair skies continue with near
seasonal temperatures. Expect more cloudiness late Wednesday into
Thursday with southwest flow aloft and moderating temperatures.

Coastal Hazard Potential Days 3 and 4...A second strong Bering Sea
storm is advertised to move out into the western Bering Sea
Wednesday and will move east towards the West Coast Thursday and
Friday. There are significant model differences with the track and
strength of the low as it moves in the eastern Bering Sea Thursday
and Friday with one taking a northern track across St Lawrence
Island, while the other taking a southern route where the low
travels over St Matthew Island and towards the Yukon Delta. If the
eventual track is the northern route, strong south to southwest
winds over a a long fetch for an extended period of time with the
potential for elevated water levels along the south and west
facing shorelines of the Bering Strait, St Lawrence Island, Norton
Sound, and the Yukon Delta Coast. If the storm passes to the
south, the strongest winds will remain south of the area with east
to northeast winds likely. Residents in these areas should
continue to monitor the developing situation for the latest
