The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Franklin County in east central Kansas...
* Until 730 AM CDT
* At 330 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Two to four inches of rain is
estimated to have fallen with some locations likely receiving over
six inches since late Monday evening. An additional one to two
inches of rain is possible through dawn.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ottawa, Pomona, Princeton and Rantoul.
This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 173 and 195.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
