...Torrential rain with an increasing wind and tornado threat
spreading northward over east central Florida...

.DISCUSSION...
Major Hurricane Irma continues its northward motion this morning,
exhibiting a 20 nautical mile wide eye on KBYX (Key West) radar.
The center is forecast to move up the west coast, placing all of
east central Florida in the northeastern quadrant of the storm.
The large wind field associated with the storm will produce far-
reaching effects, and a period of damaging winds with gusts to
hurricane force is still expected late this afternoon and into
early Monday morning.

The outer rainbands of Irma will continue to spread north and east
this morning, increasing in both coverage and intensity. The CDO
(central dense overcast) will move in late this afternoon and into
tonight, producing a more widespread wind and heavy rainfall
event (with a lower, but non-zero, threat of TC tornadoes).

NOW IS THE TIME TO REMAIN IN YOUR SAFE SHELTER! Residents and visitors
to east central Florida are strongly encouraged to monitor the latest
products issued by your local National Weather Service Office.

.AVIATION...
Deteriorating conditions expected through the next 24 hours as
Irma closes in on Florida. Multiple TEMPO groups through the
forecast with onshore-moving showers from the Atlantic. On and off
showers will continue early this afternoon with steadier rain
settling in this evening and overnight. MVFR conditions will
deteriorate toward IFR criteria by this evening, especially for
terminals across the Treasure Coast. Winds will continue to
increase through the day as the eye of Irma moves across the
western half of Florida.

.MARINE...
Today-Tonight...Hurricane Warnings remain in effect for the
coastal waters of east Central Florida as Major Hurricane Irma
churns through the Florida Keys and into the southwestern portion
of the peninsula. East to southeast winds will increase to 35-45
knots through the day as wave heights build to 15-25 feet. Winds
will gradually diminish from south to north by later tonight as
seas also slowly subside. Nonetheless, dangerous conditions will
continue through the night with wave heights remaining in the
10-15 foot range by Monday morning.

Monday-Wednesday...Gusty south/southwest winds will diminish in
the wake of Irma through the day on Monday as seas further
subside through midweek.
