.DISCUSSION...
Today through Tonight:
Latest satellite imagery showed a broad upper trough axis over
the Central CONUS. On the surface a frontal boundary was observed
near the northwest delta region. Area radars showed that the
outflow boundary of convection has flatted out across our
southeastern counties. For today the front will push across most
of the region by this evening. CAM guidance shows convection with
locally heavy rainfall across out southern counties for mainly
this afternoon. Pwats will be near and 2 inches. The best chance
for locally heavy rainfall will be along and ahead of the front
where the best moisture convergence will occur. Coordinated with
my southern neighboring offices for a Flash Flood Watch which will
be effective until 00z. Will let the day shift extend it into the
evening should the need arise. WPC has a slight risk of excessive
rainfall for my southern counties for today. Will be looking at a
quick 2 to 4 inches heavy rainfall amounts in some of the
stronger storms for mainly this afternoon at the time of peak
heating. Models shows light Corfidi vectors across my southern
counties which will lead to some training of cells along with some
possible backbuilding. Highs today will be in the lower to middle
80s.
For tonight look the activity to continue. Expect most of the
locally heavier rains to push south of the region during the night.
This will occur the the front pushes south of the region. Lows for
tonight will be from the middle 60s north to the lower 70s

Sunday through Friday:
Starting out the new week, the upper-air pattern will feature a
broad trough over the eastern CONUS and ridging over the
Intermountain West early in the week. A strong surface high (~1025
mb) will filter out of the north and slide across the country,
keeping temperatures on the cooler side of normal through about
Wednesday. This should keep rain chances to a minimum for most of
the area early in the week, although a few afternoon showers or
thunderstorms cannot be ruled out across southern portions of the
area. Then as the next upper trough slides over the central CONUS
and southeasterly surface winds return to our region on the
periphery of the Bermuda High, increasing humidity and
temperatures will return to the ArkLaMiss region. Chances for more
scattered to widespread summertime convection return to the
forecast for the second half of this week as well. /NF/

06Z TAF discussion:
Convection along an outflow boundary was positioned from near
Natchez to around Meridian. A cold front will drop into the HWY 82
corridor after 08Z and result in additional SHRA/TSRA chances.
Outside of TSRA activity, VFR conds wl prevail until 09Z when MVFR
cigs are anticipated then dropping to IFR 11-14Z. Cigs are
expected to slowly improve Saturday morning. TSRA activity wl
become focused across the south by aftn along the cold front.
Locally heavy rainfall will be possible across our southeast
