The National Weather Service in Des Moines  has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northeastern Marion County in south central Iowa...
  Northwestern Mahaska County in south central Iowa...
  Southeastern Jasper County in central Iowa...

* Until 815 PM CST.

* At 740 PM CST, a confirmed tornado was located near Lake Red Rock,
  or near Knoxville, moving northeast at 60 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado and quarter size hail. 

  SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado. 

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely. 

* The tornado will be near...
  Pella around 750 PM CST. 

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Pella
Municipal Airport, Elk Rock State Park, Sully and Lynnville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

AND SOUTHEASTERN JASPER COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...
        
The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area.
Therefore the warning has been cancelled.  However gusty winds and
heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CST for central and
south central Iowa.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
eastern Marion and Mahaska Counties.
